Some Points of Interest

La Mesilla is a quiet, sun-baked village of great charm and historic color, much as it was a hundred years ago.  The plaza is surrounded by quaint shops, historic old buildings, restaurants and museums.  A 5 minute drive or an easy walk from the campground.

White Sands National Monument  250 square miles of pure white gypsum sand.  A wonder of nature that is fun for everyone.  Ski the dunes, picnic or visit the museum which tells you how this wonder was created.  60 minutes from Las Cruces.
Organ Mountains  Offers hiking, picnicking and camping.  Dripping Springs Ranch on the west side of the mountain (small fee) and Aquirre Springs Recreation Area on the east side of the mountains.  15-30 minutes from Las Cruces.

Gila Cliff Dwellings  This mysterious remnant of an ancient culture is approximately 800 years old.  Why the inhabitants left their dwellings is not known.  Set in a National Forest Area with camping and picnic facilities available for visitors.  Four hours from Las Cruces.
